Stay At Home Mom Doesnt Mean You Get To Stay At Home

I thought to myself, " I should just see how much I travel in a week". So Monday morning when I got in the car to take the kids to school I set odometer to zero. Well its only half way through the week and I have already driven over 160 miles. My husband doesnt drive that much in a week to and from work. Whomever said that a stay at home Mom has it easy has never been a stay at home Mom. There isnt a lot of staying at home. Even when you are home its not like you are kicked back on the couch eating bon bons and watching your stories. When I am home I am usually doing laundry, cleaning whatever room needs the most attention at that moment, cooking supper, making a grocery list or just stopping in just to use the potty before I go pick up one of the kids from  school or a friends or to take them to school or a friends. I am beginning to think it was easier when I had a 9 to 5 job. At least then I was around grown-ups and could take days off from work and at the end of the week I got a pay check. As a stay at home Mom there are no days off, no sick days, you dont clock in, because you are always on the clock, there is no pay check at the end of the week. Best you can hope for is you and your family survived and you are well enough to do it all again the next day.
